What speakers do in conversation
According to the theory of Tannen, there are more than sentences in conversation, which means when we are doing analiz of conversation, we should take care of many details. First of all, there are frames of discourse. When we speak or listen, we need to know about the what type of dialogue it is and in what context it is. If not, we may make misunderstanding or say something wrong. And then, the turn-taking is tha basic rule. We all know in conversation, one can not talk for the whole time. We are supposed to exchange our rol, but its importante to notice the oportuno time to take the turn. Sometimes people are too hurry to speak, so the other one in the conversation will feel uncomfortable to be interrupted. And we may notice that we usually use different discourse markers such as “but”“well” to make pause or express some conection. They are very importante because we can tell some personality or something that people dont make it clear from the analiz of them. The final factor which worth attention is the speech acts. This one is related to the culture and socioreality. So when there is a choque of cultures, we may misunderstand each.other and make wrong interept.
